My 2016 Meets The X-Files

The very first episode of  The X-Files aired when I was 12. I can still remember how excited I was to see the series for the first time and how I got to stay up on a Friday night just to watch it. I had a small black and white TV in my room, so I literally sat on the edge of my bed and watched the whole episode with such awe.

That was also when I started my lifelong crush on David Duchovny, as his character was not only handsome, but brilliant. The X-Files

The X-Files

Thanks to the awesomeness of Netflix, I have started re-watching the entire series again. The first episode was just as awesome as I remember it being and hearing the iconic music still gives me goosebumps.

What I love best is that I can watch the series on my schedule without missing one minute. For me, 2016 is all about getting back to me. It only made sense to start watching my most favourite series of all time again!

My focus of eating cleaner, working out daily and watching The X-Files really has me off to a pretty darn good start this year. Plus, The X-Files came back after all these years for a Season 10 with 6 episodes, which I have also been watching. It is blowing my mind with the new episodes and honestly, David Duchovny is still crush-worthy!

So the question is, have you watched the new episodes yet? Are you liking them?

I absolutely have and I LOVE being able to continue the journey with the show. I want them to hook back up obviously cause I waited 9 Seasons to see that happen and then of course all the movies. I think the tone of the new season isn’t the same as before. Obviously they want a lighter, more humorous go at it, which I can understand. I sooooo want them to continue the show past these 6 episodes!!!!!!!

I have been watching the 6 episode reboot (I rewatched the original 9 seasons on Netflix last fall in preparation of the reboot), and so fan-girling (is that even a word?!) over it! LOVE IT!

I loved the X-Files as a kid and recently started rewatching them on Netflix too! I think they are just as good as they were back in the day! I watched the new series but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped. It was nice to see the characters again but the stories just weren’t compelling. Back to the original series for me!
