Baking soda truly is like magic to me. It has so many uses and they just seem to be getting better. I have personally always trusted a reliable brand for all my baking soda needs!
I love reliability, what can I say! These smart hacks for using baking soda for your cat will blow your mind!
Using Baking Soda For Your Cat
1. Freshen Your Carpets/Furniture – In a given day, your cat spends a lot of time playing about and napping. It also means that their little cat bum has been on your carpet as well as your furniture.
You definitely don’t want the cat odors sneaking in, so sprinkle baking soda on your carpet/furniture and leave for roughly 25 minutes. After that vacuum!
2. Clean Up Cat Stains – Whether your cat may have had a rough hairball or decided it was time to potty outside of their box, baking soda mixed with an equal amount of white vinegar will help. Using a paper towel, soak up/pick up any excess and give the baking soda mixture a go!
Plus, this solution is a whole lot cheaper than spending countless amounts of money on stain removers!
3. Keep Your Cat’s Bed Fresh – We all know that our cats have a favourite spot in the house. Many times, this area is a pet bed or perhaps a towel, but you get the idea. As much as you like to have fresh smelling bedding, your cat does as well.
Toss your cat’s bed in the washer with detergent and 1 cup of baking soda and let it work away. Make sure you use a detergent that is fragrance/dye free!

4. Give Kitty a Dry Shampoo – We all know how most cats hate having a bath. While normally cats can take care of themselves, there are occasions a freshening of kitty is necessary.
Sprinkle your cat’s coat with baking soda and give it a good rub. Once you have given your cat a thorough rub down, remove the excess baking soda.
5. Help With Litter Odor – We all know a cat box can get pretty smelly. Remember that even your cat prefers a clean and odor free box. Sprinkle baking soda in the litter box to help trap odors for a fresher smelling home!
