When it comes to pampering your cat, besides unconditional love, cat furniture is the way to go! It not only allows your cat personal space all their own, but it also offers a sleep spot and endless hours of play!
You want to make sure to get the best cat furniture features in whatever product you choose. For me, that has meant shopping online through Little Whiskers.
Check Out These Best Cat Furniture Features!
Quality Matters! Not all cat furniture is created equal. You want cat furniture that is made with high-quality, pet-friendly materials and that poses no danger to your cat. Materials such as 3/4 pressured board, natural sisal rope, soft faux fur and metal hardware are all considered high-quality!
Height! All cats love the advantage of height. It allows them to feel a safe distance off the floor, a great hideaway from young children/other animals and adds another dimension to their indoor world. You want cat furniture that gives them the advantage they are looking for. Plus, climbing is all that more enjoyable when there is a height element involved!
Perches and Condos! Each cat furniture piece offers different additions. You want to consider your number of cats as well as the sizes of your cats. A larger cat would need a larger, 14″ perch for example. The same goes for condo openings. You want to ensure the cat furniture piece you choose is best suited to your cats needs!
Stability! The stability of a cat furniture piece is so very important. Most cats will be very active on their furniture and you don’t want to chance a fall-over accident. Check the base dimensions, tree stability rating as well as the weight of the cat furniture.
The Best Cat Furniture Features Really Do Make a Difference For Your Kitty!
The most recent addition to my cat furniture is the Vancouver Cat Tree. With eight cats, I definitely needed something to accommodate the majority, as well as something that my heavier cat, Anson, could enjoy as well! The Vancouver Cat Tree couldn’t be more perfect.
It not only is made of high-quality materials that last, but the stability is fabulous. My 3 younger ginger cats will go crazy on it in the mornings. Regardless of the jumping, climbing, clawing and playing, it is completely stable.
There are six levels, 3 perches, 2 condos and even a little ladder. The ladder was so important since my senior cat, Cubby, is disabled. He can’t jump like he used to and the little ladder has allowed him to get up to the top levels on the cat furniture. Seeing him on the very top perch always makes me smile! With the larger perch and larger condo openings, my Anson is able to fully enjoy the cat tree as well.
Make sure to check out Little Whiskers on Facebook for new products, offers and more!

I’ve looked at these cat condos and have considered purchasing one for my cat. I’m just not sure if he will use it though. Seeing these pictures of the cats sleeping, especially the curled up cat makes me kind of change my mind. Maybe my cat will like it. Something for me to think about. Thanks so much for the pics and handy information on what to look for should I decide to buy one. I never would have thought about all these things.

I have this same kitty condo and it is awesome! My two cats love it so much.

This was a really great post. I’ve been struggling to find something with enough stability for my rowdy crowd, but also something that has enough height to keep them from climbing on top of the human furniture (one of them can get up there but he’s chicken to jump down, so I have to climb on a chair, reach waaay over my head, grab him around the middle and hope he doesn’t squirm…). The Vancouver cat tree is on my wishlist now. I mean, my cats’ wishlist π

I will have to check Little Whiskers out. We have 2 cats and recently bought a cat tree and they love it so we may add another piece of cat furniture to the house for them.

Our 2 cats would have a blast with any of these pieces. I should look into getting something like these for them.

That cat tree is AMAZING! Your cats are so lucky!

Will changing attitudes help save lives and improve cat welfare? I don’t think of cat climbing and scratching furniture as pampering cats, I think it’s essential for their health. Appropriate scratching surfaces should be mandatory in all homes or places where cats live. Cats need to scratch as part of normal, innate behaviour. It helps remove the dead sheath from the claw, leave scent from their paws, and exercises muscles that connect their front legs to their bodies. Climbing can help prevent arthritis and keep cats feeling younger, while the height provides additional territory, security, and environmental stimulation.
If we consider cat climbing furniture as essential rather than optional or “pampering”, and if all vets recommended it, maybe we would have healthier, happier cats, and fewer issues that can have negative outcomes for cats and their welfare.

No matter how nice the furniture, cats still like human furniture best!

Gorgeous cats. Cats love sleeping on any furniture, so it’s good to get them high quality ones.

I don’t have a cat now but my son does and he’s a real softie with his cat. I do think cats need their own furniture, it helps to prevent them clawing at ours and does reduce cat hair a bit too.

My 3 cats love their condo. It’s quite similar to yours and they LOVE it. It’s the best purchase I’ve made for them. I have it close to the window so they can do their bird watching from the perches. It’s definitely helped with the scratching of our couch as well.

What a beautiful cat tree and I know one lil cat who would absolutely love this.

WOW!! I would LOVE to get my cats the Vancouver Cat Tree. Unfortunately, my parents would kill me, I couldn’t afford it, it’s sold out…I think that’s the basic order of reasons why I can’t π
You’re so lucky to have so many cats!! We have three cats (one is going to be 12 next month; one turned 2 in December; our kitten will be one in July) and one pug (I think he is about 8ish years old). I love them all dearly though!! <3 <3

I love this cat furniture, but my crazy fur babies rather lounge in the box itself.
Cheryl Grandy says
This sounds like wonderful cat furniture. I especially like that the one you got has a ladder. Our cat is getting older and can’t jump the way she used to. The ladder would be helpful for her.
Amy Lovell says
This sounds like great top quality cat furniture. If I owned one of those beasts I would def be building some of those!
Jo-Anne Pfoh says
great post but I have a question, why is it that no matter how much furniture and boxes I give them they are always hogging the bed at bedtime ?
Cody Pfoh says
we have a lot of furniture for the cats but they always seem to fight over the same one. as soon as one takes an interest they all want it.

Thank you for this post. We just had to throw out our old cat post. Buying locally the cat trees are so expensive. I checked out the website where you got your Vancouver cat tree. Will definitely be checking in to see when they get restocked!
Addie F. says
This cat tree looks fantastic! And the review was very helpful, because my kitties are quite big and energetic so I always worry if a cat tree will be sturdy enough to hold them and stay up if the kitties jump all over it. Knowing that you vouch for this one with 8 cats, some of them young, puts it at the top of my list! Thank you!

I’m still looking around for a good perch or tree for my kitty. Great information!
Maryann D. says
My cat loved his perches, I tried to put them in the sunny areas. And I do agree that quality counts, we want safe items and items that will last a while for our pets.

What a beautiful cat tree I will share this post with my friend who rescues cat

I love how your kitty is all curled up in his house
Holly says
One of the best purchases I made is our Cat tree. It had three perches high up, which they all lounge around on. There is always at least one cat on there all of the time. It’s right by the window so they can bird watch :). They love having their own space. Little Whiskers is great. So many options, and affordable!

I love Cat houses and would love to try to make a double decker house with stairs once i can figure out a good plan!
