Cake in a Mug – Snickerdoodle

You really have me at the word cake. I honestly can’t think of a moment in my life that I wouldn’t have been more than happy to enjoy cake. Normally, handmade is fabulous, but also time consuming. When I have a minimal amount of time, but want that cake experience I normally grab a boxed mix. However, not anymore.

Let me introduce you to my new awesomely amazing cake experience, Cake in a Mug! Yes, you get all the delicious cake experience put into a mug and microwaved. It doesn’t get any easier than that. How I lived without it this long I may never know. I found this gem originally on Five Heart Home and so happy I did!

Cake in a Mug

Cake in a Mug

You Will Need:

1/4 cup & 2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Cake in a Mug Snickerdoodle

In a bowl, mix together sugar, flour, baking powder and cinnamon until combined. Blend in milk, vanilla and butter until smooth.

In a little bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon.

In a microwave-safe mug (at least 14 oz in size), alternate batter and cinnamon sugar mixture. Make sure the top of the batter in the mug has cinnamon sugar.

Microwave on high for 1-1.5 minutes. Allow to cool and enjoy!

I’ve seen a lot of mug cake recipes on pinterest lately. Haven’t made one yet; we don’t eat a lot of cake in our house. But that’s what I like about it– NOT having to make a whole cake that will be wasted. This is just the right amount, enough for us to enjoy a little treat!

Exactly. Baking a whole cake in my house means it gets eaten quickly, so a mug cake helps keep the portion control going on my end ..hehe
