The New Year is on it’s way. I know that for many 2016 was rough and I am hopeful that 2017 will come shining bright! While I don’t make resolutions, I do make plans. I have decided to focus more on my baking than I have in the past year. This has started already with my Cinnamon Coffee Cake.
I came upon this delicious creation in a local recipe book and decided I must try it for myself! It was completely inhaled within 30 minutes out of the oven, if that tells you anything!
Cinnamon Coffee Cake
You Will Need:
1 and 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
For The Topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375 Degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and shortening. Then mix in milk, egg and vanilla. Spoon mixture into a greased 9×9 pan.
In a small bowl, mix together the topping ingredients. Spread over the batter in the pan.
Bake for roughly 30 minutes. Allow to cool before serving!
