Christmas and baking go hand-in-hand. However, sometimes it is nice to take a step back from the more involved baking recipes and going with a crowd pleaser!

These Easy Christmas Cupcakes take the awesome of a cupcake and pair it with holiday cheer. Plus, the delicious candy on top means a little extra burst of that peppermint goodness!

Easy Christmas Cupcakes

You Will Need:

Chocolate Cupcakes – You can go with your favourite homemade chocolate cupcake recipe or use a boxed cake mix to save time.

Decorating frosting – I went with my homemade buttercream frosting as it is the perfect addition to any cupcake!

Christmas Sprinkles

Junior Mints Peppermint Crunch Candy

Easy Christmas CupcakesAfter your cupcakes have baked and are cooled completely, frost with icing. I went with a minimal amount of frosting on the top to allow the sprinkles to sit comfortably on top of the cupcake.

Sprinkle cupcake thoroughly with sprinkles. If you place the cupcake in a bowl prior to shaking on the sprinkles, you can collect the additional sprinkles in the bottom of the bowl and not waste any!

Finally, top your cupcake with a Junior Mint Peppermint Crunch Candy. These are perfect for that additional special holiday touch!

I tend to stay away from any baking that’s too fancy or involved or requires too many ingredients. I can’t justify spending $20 on ingredients per dish if they’d like simple and easy treats just as well!
