My Daughter recently turned eight. Like birthdays before, she wanted to have a fabulous party with her friends. While I brainstormed, I was contacted by Stampin Up to host an ever so fantastic card making workshop.
It couldn’t have been more perfectly timed. It was then decided that each guest would be able to create an Easy DIY Kitty Cat Card. I even booked a face painter so the kids would be double thrilled by the party festivities!
Easy DIY Kitty Cat Card Ideas to Meow About!
At this point, I have to mention that I am super lucky to have one of the most creative and talented friends. Her name is Sheila and she is the reason I had some of the most gorgeous cards created prior to the party.
I sent her home with all the Stampin Up accessories she would need and she made her cards the day before so all the guests would have some templates to create their cards from. I honestly can’t thank her enough for that. I displayed the cards on the kitchen island and after each guest got their face painted, it was time to create a kitty card of their own!
All the materials used for each card were supplied by Stampin Up and can be viewed on their website! If you would like to place an order, contact a demonstrator in your area! There is an option at the top right corner of the Stampin Up Page to help you locate one! The adorable kitty cat stamps used are from the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set.
The set includes five kitty cat stamps and six fun messages. The favourite message for most of the cards made ended up being, “you make me happy.” There were precut papers so each guest was able to use the washi tape to hold the different pieces together on their cards.
What Will You Need to Create Your Own Kitty Cat Card?
- Block to stamp
- Pretty kitty stamps
- Coloured papers to make the cards
- Patterned sticky paper
- Ribbon
- Stamp pad
- Watercolor pencils
Most of the guests really appreciated the pre-made cards and used them as inspiration for their own. I found with the kids that the favourite part of all was getting to use the watercolour pencils to colour the kitty cats!
How crazy adorable is this kitty cat card with ribbon threaded through it? A couple of the girls saw this and did the very same thing to their cards. What I found most surprising was how easy these are to make. Normally, I would head down to the grocery store to purchase a nice card.
Yet this means I can save money and time by making homemade! Who knew it was this easy?! Stampin Up has absolutely everything you need to make any type of card your heart desires. Since I love cats, my heart obviously desired kitty cat cards!
Can I just add this may have been the only Stampin Up Party where a tiger, a unicorn, a monkey and other mythical creatures got to make their own kitty cat cards!
