My youngest is all about Star Wars. When he isn’t wearing his Star Wars apparel or playing with his many Star Wars toys, he usually can be found playing Star Wars games.
He recently turned 5 and of course, I had to make sure he had a Star Wars cake! For those with a Star Wars fan in their life, this easy Star Wars cake is a must!
Easy Star Wars Cake
What I love about this cake is that it is super-doable for everyone. You don’t have to be a cake wizard to pull this off! To start, you need a cake. My personal homemade favourite is my Vanilla Confetti Cake.
For this particular cake in the photo, you will want to go with a chocolate cake recipe. You can just as easily pick up a cake at your local store or use a boxed mix to save time!
For the frosting, you will want to go with my Best Ever Buttercream Frosting. It is easy to make and can be done while you are waiting for the cake to bake or cool.
As you can see in the photo, this particular cake went with Mini Oreo Cookies. You will need to crush chocolate cookies for around the cake as well! You can make the frosting circles on the top of the cake by utilizing a Wilton tip of your choice and piping the frosting onto the top.
Once you have piped the circles, you can place a Mini Oreo Cookie in each circle setting.
The final step is making this cake Star Wars fantastic! I live in a small rural town, so my Star Wars options were extremely limited.
I ended up purchasing Star Wars Chocolate Surprise Eggs at my local Fields. Each egg contains a Star Wars figurine, so I put those to good use!
My son loves the dark side, so all figures on the cake are dark side characters!
If you don’t have a local Fields, check your local retailer as well as Bulk Barn for alternative options!
