Family Travel in Saint John

The start of our family travel in Saint John, New Brunswick adventures began at the Reversing Rapids. The experience allows you to witness the Bay of Fundy high tide reversing into the Saint John River.

We arrived at a fabulous spot overlooking the tide. It is really a site to behold and there is an obvious struggle that goes on within the waters to eventually make a full reverse of the tide!Family Travel in Saint John 2

After seeing the Reversing Rapids, it was time to check in to the Saint John Hilton, which is perfectly located next door to the New Brunswick Museum and Market Square. Checking in to the hotel was painless and our rooms were gorgeous. My husband and I got a large king bed in a gorgeously spacious room, while the kids got their very own room with a bed for each of them!

Since our arrival to the hotel was mid-evening, my husband took the kids to the pool while I relaxed in the room. After the pool, the kids and I enjoyed dinner in our room. The room service was the perfect end to such an exciting day!Family Travel in Saint John 3

After a delicious buffet breakfast, the entire group made our way to the New Brunswick Museum. They set up a special tour for us that included a scavenger-style hunt. It kept the kids entertained while the rest of us could take a look around the museum.

My personal favourites were definitely the period pieces and artifacts. I am always so blown away by how breathtaking history can be.  The mammoth was one of my youngest son’s favourite attractions. At the end of the tour, the kids got to make an art project, which they all enjoyed! Family Travel in Saint John 5

Our next stop was lunch at the Saint John City Market. The market was filled with vendors, fresh fruit and veggies and of course, yummy eats! My husband snagged us teriyaki chicken with rice and it was delicious. The entire group enjoyed a different dish and lunch was great for all!  Family Travel in Saint John 4

For the remainder of the day, we headed to the town of St. Martin to experience the Fundy Trail Parkway. We arrived at the Caves Restaurant and took a few great photos before heading up for our guided tour. The sea caves were such a site to see and the tide was up!Family Travel in Saint John 6

The weather was muggy, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying all that the Fundy Trail Parkway had to offer! We toured the lookout points and even had a mini adventure down a chain ladder to see a gorgeous waterfall at the bottom! You could very easily spend a whole day exploring. The lush greens were especially enchanting!

Make sure to watch for more posts on my New Brunswick adventures!!!!

Not that I am biased due to the fact that we live in NB, but Saint John is definitely a nice coastal city to visit.
