One story my Dad always enjoyed sharing with me was about the time he visited his sister in San Francisco as a teenager. I heard that story more times than I could remember, but it resonated with me. After he passed away, I knew I needed to visit San Francisco and get a taste of the magic.
My husband and I made the trip for my 30th birthday and I was so enchanted. I hope to go back in the future and just had to share my 5 Places to See in San Francisco!
The Queen Anne Hotel – I can’t say enough about this gorgeous hotel. It is not only centrally located, but holds so much history inside its Victorian elegance. My husband and I found the location couldn’t have been more perfect for visiting the various places in San Francisco and I know when we go back, I will be booking The Queen Anne Hotel! Oh and did I mention that it is haunted!
Fisherman’s Wharf – Our first day in San Francisco, my husband and I visited Fisherman’s Wharf. We had rented a car, so it was just a short drive for us. Being San Francisco’s historic waterfront district, there really is something for everyone. With restaurants and attractions, you really can spend a full day here and still not get to see everything!
Afternoon Tea – You honestly can’t be surrounded with all this Victorian/Edwardian beauty without having afternoon tea. While there are many choices, we absolutely loved Crown & Crumpet Tea Stop Cafe. It is where traditional Victorian is turned upside down and couldn’t be more charming. Best of all, this is something the whole family can enjoy!
Painted Ladies – Anyone who has seen Full House knows about The Painted Ladies. These charming Pacific Heights Victorian and Edwardian mansions are a must see for anyone visiting. We visited them during the day and they are quite a sight to finally see in person!
Golden Gate Bridge – Last, but very much not least is the Golden Gate Bridge. We saved the drive across this beauty for the last day of our adventure. It was so very surreal driving across and is worth the cab fare if you aren’t renting a vehicle!

Family Travel in Saint Andrews By the Sea, New Brunswick – This is one place I would absolutely love to visit again. Perfect for a family vacation!
Family Travel in Saint John, New Brunswick – Everything was so fabulously wonderful. We enjoyed every stop along the way!

Went there quite a few years ago. We walked across the Golden Gate Bridge, then took the bus to Sausolito and eventually took the ferry back to San Francisco. Also did the tour of Alcatraz. We took a bus tour to Gilroy, the garlic capital. Did a cable car bus tour of San Francisco. We took the train and then the ferry back to Victoria Canada

That is so great you went on your 30th in memory of your Dad.
I was there when I was 16yrs old. Love it! Although we were only there for 4 days. I hope to make it back someday.
