How to Get Rid of Pet Smells in Your Home

I love my cats. My days are definitely a whole lot brighter because of them. However, I was recently introduced to the term “noseblind” and in all honesty, I have no doubt I am.

How to get rid of pet smells in your home doesn’t have to be difficult. With these easy tips, you can have your home smelling fresh in no time at all!

As much as I love my cats, I know that the smells associated aren’t always pleasant. Thankfully, I have some fabulous tips on how to get rid of the pet smells in your home and get back to loving kitty again!

Vacuum regularly. This may seem like a no-brainer, but vacuuming at least once a day, especially in a pet household, helps eliminate a buildup of dander and hair.

Baking soda! The resourcefulness of baking soda is almost endless. You can use it to freshen your carpet by simply sprinkling it on, leave for roughly 15 minutes and then vacuum up. To eliminate odours in the litter box, mix it in with your cat’s existing litter and/or sit an opened box in the same room!

Eliminate clutter. When things begin to accumulate, so do smells. Make sure to keep your home picked up and maintain your pet’s bedding, food/water area, etc.

Use Febreze! The beauty of Febreze is that it eliminates odour instead of masking them. There are several different options from spray to oil warmers to choose from. I like to spray the furniture, carpet and areas my pet frequents to keep it smelling its best.
