Hairball Cupcakes

As a cat owner, we all know the joys of hairballs. They come in all shapes, colours and sizes. They tend to lurk in the dark corners until we wake up and find our foot stepping on them in a gross turn of events.

Thankfully, these Hairball Cupcakes are nothing but delicious! While your cat can’t eat them, they will definitely approve!

These Hairball Cupcakes are a delicious version vs the usual kitty cat mess!

Hairball Cupcakes You Can’t Help But Love!

Start by making your favourite cupcakes. Go with a boxed mix if you looking at saving time! If you want to go homemade, try my Coconut Cupcakes for a spin on traditional! You want the cupcakes to be completely cooled before you attempt frosting! I went with my Best Ever Buttercream Frosting. It is my go-to frosting for all my cupcakes. You can’t change perfection!

Hairball Cupcakes

Once your cupcakes are frosted you are going to need chocolate shavings. I went with a milk chocolate bar and shaved off what I needed.

Alice - The Ginger Lady

I then mixed in chopped peanuts and Reese’s Peanut Butter Baking Chips! The combination gives a furry and fun approach to a kitty cat hairball. I sprinkled each cupcake with the yummy combination and hairball cupcakes were born! As you can see from the photo my adorable cat, Alice, these cupcakes are kitty cat approved!

I’ve made spaghetti cupcakes but I’ve never seen anything quite like this before…I guess it’s similar to the April Fools ‘litter box’ treat gag with tootsie roll poo, haha!
