Haunted Algonquin Resort

When it comes to haunted places, I am always ready for an adventure. Last year, I was given the opportunity to visit the absolutely amazing Haunted Algonquin Resort and of course, had to check out its haunted history!

Upon arrival, I went to the front desk to check in and also inquire about any ghost tours available. Luckily for me, I was able to book a private tour for that evening.

I can honestly say I hadn’t had such ghost tour service anywhere else I have been, so I was thrilled! The always lovely Tammi from My Organized Chaos was my partner in crime for this tour and she lasted up until midnight!

The tour started by going into the depths of the Algonquin, which meant spooky tunnel time! I loved this part because we got to learn about some of the history as well as see an aspect of the Algonquin many miss out on.

We didn’t encounter any spooky interaction, but with three of us talking and taking photos, I didn’t expect there would be anything. However, there was clicking and for those that know their haunted experiences, that was something!

We finished the night with a hallway visit to room 473. Unfortunately, it was occupied or we could have had a look inside. It is the most haunted room in the Algonquin. The story goes that there was a bride left at the alter who took her own life in the room.

This isn’t an uncommon story I have heard in several haunted locations. However, there are many accounts and experiences documented regarding this specific room, so it is definitely worth booking!

I have visited the Algonquin for Sunday brunch, but have never spent the night or gone on a ghost tour. Hmmm…sounds like something my sisters and I may need to do sometime soon. I love a good ghost story!

I’m addicted to shows like Ghost Hunters, Ghost asylum, etc.! I think a trip like this would be great, but I’m not sure I could sleep there, lolol. I might just be awake all night.

I haven’t been to the Algonquin region in years. Looks like it is time to go back.

I wouldn’t like being spooked so it’s best I not risk visiting any haunted places, it would be just my luck for ‘something’ to happen when I was there. 🙂
