Healthy Slow Cooker Chili

It is that time of year when the days start to get shorter and the weather brings the cold. For most, this means it’s time to start enjoying some delicious comfort food.

Comfort food always makes our hearts feel warmer regardless of the cold outside. Add a healthy touch to comfort food and you really have something special. Healthy Slow Cooker Chili might just be your new favourite way to cook chili!

Healthy Slow Cooker Chili

I found this recipe on cj7day.com and it quickly became a favourite of mine!

You will need:

1 lb. ground turkey
1/2 cup tomatoes, diced
1/2 onion, diced
8 oz. corn, canned
8 oz. black beans, canned
8 oz. kidney beans, canned
2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 package chili seasoningHealthy Slow Cooker Chili 2

Before going in the slow cooker, brown turkey. Make sure to drain any access liquid/fat.

Put all ingredients in your slow cooker. Cook on high for 2 hours.

    I love my slow cooker but I couldn’t eat chilli, anything at all spicy burns my mouth, lips and tongue.

    Fantastic recipe! I’ve been craving chili lately…..not sure I’m a fan of using turkey for it tho. Bookmarked, might try using beef!

    Your recipe is similar to my husband’s “World Famous Chili,” but he’s never put corn in it. That would be good! I’ll have to suggest it to him.

    I make slow cooker chili on christmas eve because I had to work that day – it was awesome coming home from work to dinner already made! 🙂 More time to spend with my kids!
