Italian Teething Cookies

Being a mom, I know all about how important it is to provide a child with healthy food options from the start. With my youngest turning 3 in January, I am thankful that he enjoys nutritious foods. One of his favourite foods is still eggs. He loves scrambled eggs and obviously, eggs baked into a delicious treat. I feel good about giving my children eggs and I know they are providing them with much needed vitamins and nutrients!

Coming up with a baby-friendly egg option was something I enjoyed. Teething biscuits were always a huge hit with my children, so I instantly wanted to make something that baby could enjoy on their own. Italian Teething Cookies were the perfect choice and couldn’t have been more easy to make!

You will need:
3 Eggs
2 Cups Flour
2 Cups Icing Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Almond Extract

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a medium bowl, using a mixer, combine eggs and icing sugar. Mix for roughly 8 minutes until well-mixed.

In a small bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add to wet mixture until combined.

Roll dough out into desired shape and place on greased baking sheet. Traditionally, this recipe calls for you to put the dough in the fridge overnight, but this is not a must.

Bake for 15 minutes or until they are done.

Love the idea of home-made biscuits. Always good to know what goes into something you offer your child – and these have such simple ingredients!

I think these are an excellent substitute for store bought, but seems like a lot of sugar, I wonder if they would work out with less or if there were another substitute?
