My husband is a huge fan of blueberries. In his constant quest for blueberries, my children have joined in with their love for eating them. This leads me to bake a lot of blueberries. I prefer using fresh blueberries, but you can use frozen blueberries in a pinch.
A recent favourite is my Perfect for Every Occasion Fresh Homemade Blueberry Pie. It was quite possibly one of the easiest pies I have ever made and turns out fabulously every time! With blueberry lovers in the house, it barely lasted a day!
Perfect For Every Occasion Blueberry Pie
What I love most about this classic blueberry pie is how easy it is to make. It can be prepared in 10 minutes. Add to that a cooking time of 50 minutes and you have yourself a homemade pie start to finish in one hour!
I use fresh blueberries as they are available, so I make this pie especially during the summer when blueberries are abundant. You can obviously substitute with frozen blueberries as those are usually available in your grocer’s freezer section year-round.
Fresh Homemade Blueberry Pie
For the pie pastry crust, I go with my homemade pie crust. It is super easy to make and beyond delicious. It is definitely my go-to pie crust recipe. I also have a gorgeous clear pie plate that compliments the look of the pie fabulously!
Glazing this pie with a bit of milk and sugar really allows for a gorgeous crust and compliments the sweetness of the pie itself! It took me all these years to understand how much better a crust is with a bit of added sweetness!

This brings back memories of my childhood, when we used to pop out to a field nearby to collect blueberries, when that field became housing then we’d go up on the moors and collect them there. Then mum would bake a blueberry pie which was delicious. Very similar to this but without the cinnamon.
