I suffer from seasonal allergies. To the surprise of many, cat get seasonal allergies as well! Did you know that?!
As pet owners, we know how quiet our cat can be when the they are under the weather. It is important for us to know the signs and symptoms of cat seasonal allergies, as well as when to get them in to the vet!
Cat Seasonal Allergies
It is important for pet owners to remember that allergies present themselves differently in pets than they do in humans, which means knowing the signs make all the difference!
One of the most telling signs of seasonal allergies in pets is itching and scratching. Pets with seasonal allergies will be reluctant to have their ears handled, may scratch a lot, have itchy, red skin or excessively chew on their paws. An easy way to remember the signs is to think ESP: Ears, Skin, Paws.
Veterinarians have a number of treatment options to both alleviate discomfort of the symptoms as well as address the underlying issue of seasonal allergies. These options can include: topical therapies, oral medications, soothing shampoos and desensitization (immunotherapy or allergy shots/drops) as well as veterinary exclusive pet food specifically designed to address environmental allergies.

I read the “TOOTH” About Dental Health for cats. I found it interesting, i thought that if teeth are white then they are healthy- but that’s not in all cases. It’s useful to know this so my kitty will be healthy. She’s my first cat, she actually feels like a child to me. And like most mothers are to their children l, they care for their happiness and wellbeing.

I didn’t realize pets could be allergic to perfume or hazelnuts! That is crazy, poor babies! I’m glad to see there is a food that can help them.

Not having any pets myself, I’d never thought about pets having allergies too. This is a great post for those with cats. 🙂
