My breakfast routine usually involves a smoothie. I find that it is the easiest way for me to get some healthy nutrition as well as enjoy something that takes great. My usual go-to fruit has always been banana. That being said, it doesn’t hurt to enjoy a change now and again!
My husband always buys pineapple and can never seem to get enough cherries. So why not combine those 2 fruit favourites for the perfect smoothie? The pineapple cherry smoothie is the perfect choice for any time of the day. Plus, you can never go wrong with a quick and easy smoothie!
Pineapple Cherry Smoothie
Before you start the smoothie, make sure you have a good blender. I find that the higher the power, the better. I have a couple brands I use, but don’t have a particular favourite!
When it comes to the pineapple you use, you can go with either fresh pineapple or frozen. If you go with fresh pineapple, definitely make sure to add some ice to the smoothie to make it cold!
The addition of cherries really puts this smoothie over the top. Cherries are usually fresh in the grocery store in the summer, so if you can’t find any fresh, go with frozen.
I like to purchase cherries in the summer and then put them in the freezer for when I want fresh cherries, but I can’t get them fresh. There are many different types of cherries, so it may be fun to try different versions to see what you love best in this smoothie!
If you have kids in the house, this is also a great way to get them to enjoy something healthy. My kids absolutely love smoothies, so I don’t have a problem sharing them!
To add some style to your smoothie, go with a nice glass and a colorful straw. It just makes the experience feel classy while being ridiculously simple. After all, appearance is half the meal right?
