Summer is here and that means it is time to enjoy milkshakes! The recent craze to take the milkshake to the next level is called the freakshake.
You take the awesomeness of a milkshake and combine the fun aspects of various candies and desserts. It is with this is mind that the Pink Cat Freakshake came to be!
Pink Cat Freakshake
Making this freakshake came together with the love of pink and cats. The pink and white theme really stayed true to this dessert and all the elements put together made it perfect.
When it comes time to make your own, feel free to make some fun changes to fit your own style as well! This would be perfect for a birthday party too!
One of my favourite aspects to this creation are the Wilton Pink Candy Melts. Anyone familiar with my blog recipes knows how often I use Wilton products.
If you end up having a hard time finding the pink melts, you can also go with white and use pink dye to make them perfect!
The adorable cat ears you are seeing are made with marshmallows and classic pink cotton candy. Luckily, my local grocery store carries the pink cotton candy year-round!
Who knew that something so creative could taste so good? The biggest challenge is not eating all the ingredients while you put it together!
Getting your hands on the pink rock candy, may be a little tough. However, you can snag it on Amazon or at your local Bulk Barn!
If the rock candy is a no go, you could always go with sugary pink sprinkles. It will give a similar fun look that kids of all ages will enjoy!
The glass you use for the freakshake really does play a part in the visual appeal. You want to go with something simple that doesn’t distract from the yum!
If you are going to make this a party treat, you could definitely use smaller glasses for the kids. After all, you probably don’t want a sugar rush for days (hehe)!
Pink Cat Freakshake
Milkshake meets Dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups vanilla bean ice cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup pink candy melts
- mixed pink sprinkles
- pink rock candy
- pink cotton candy
- extra-large marshmallows
Instructions
-
Start by melting your white or pink chocolate to package instructions and then drizzling and pouring it around the inside and outside of the glass(es) then roll it in the bits of pink rock candy. Place the glasses in the freezer for about 15 to 30 minutes to chill.
-
While that is cooling down you can cut the large marshmallows in half diagonally, this will give you the perfect little shape of cat ears! Pull apart some of your cotton candy and set some nice fluffy pieces into the centers of the marshmallow ears.
- Either blend the ice cream and milk together until you have a thick shake or you can fill the glasses with ice cream and drizzle the milk on top to make a slightly crystalized top and melty bottom.
-
Set the cat ears on top of the ice cream in the back of the glasses (use toothpicks or skewers if needed to help them stay in place. Fill the center area around the base of the cat ears with more cotton candy to continue with the fluffy kitty cat look.
-
Fill the front space with more pink candies and sprinkles. Now they’re ready to enjoy!
