When it comes to baked treats, there is nothing that brings my heart more joy than a cupcake. They are also a huge hit with kids. They can hold them in their hands. Plus, there is way less cleanup than serving cake!
My youngest is a huge fan of PJ Masks. His favourite character is Catboy. He is a cat lover at heart, so it makes perfect sense. It is for this very reason that these PJ Masks Catboy Cupcakes came about!

When it comes to the cupcakes, go with your favourite flavour. For kids, you can never go wrong with a vanilla or chocolate cupcake. You can make these homemade or save yourself some time and use a boxed mix.
Since you are making Catboy cupcakes, you are going to want to go with a blue cupcake wrapper. A darker blue matches best with the Catboy look as well!
The adorable Catboy ears are made from fondant. You can make homemade fondant, but it is much easier just to purchase it. My favourite fondant brand is Wilton.
The quickest choice is Wilton Decorator Blue Fondant. Otherwise, go with a white fondant and tint it blue.
When you are working with fondant, make sure to keep in mind that it can dry out pretty quickly. You will want to keep it covered with plastic wrap while you are working with it.
If you are making homemade, an airtight container also works best to store it.
For the cupcake frosting, I always use my Best Ever Buttercream Frosting. It is ridiculously delicious and super easy to make.
To tint the buttercream for these cupcakes, go with Wilton Royal Blue Icing Color. I quit using liquid food colouring ages ago.
These are so fun to make and you can get the kids involved in the task! The hardest thing is going to be not eating them all at once after they are finished!
These are perfect for any occasion. After all, who can say no to a cupcake?

These Catboy Cupcakes are Perfect for Any Occasion!
Ingredients
- Cupcakes
- Buttercream Frosting
- 6 oz Blue Fondant
- cornstarch
Instructions
-
Dust a clean surface and your rolling pin with cornstarch. Roll out 3 oz of the blue fondant until it’s about ¼ of an inch thick. Cut out small triangles using a pizza cutter. To achieve this, cut out strips, about ½ an inch in width. Then, cut them smaller, into rectangles. Then trim them into triangles by cutting off the corner of each rectangular fondant. Place 24 triangles on your lined baking sheet.
-
Knead the remaining 3 oz blue fondant. Dust your working surface + rolling pin with cornstarch. Roll it out until it’s ¼ of an inch thick and cut out smaller triangles.
-
Brush each smaller blue triangle with a bit of water and place on your larger triangles. The water will help the two fondant pieces stick together.
-
Frost each cupcake. Then place two fondant ears on every cupcake. Enjoy!

My granddaughter loves cupcakes and PJ Masks. I’m not much of a baker, but I think I can pull these off. Thanks for sharing.
