Prepare Your Cat for the Zombie Apocalypse

Do you have a cat? Do you find yourself thinking about what will happen if the zombie apocalypse becomes a reality one day? Good, then this post is a must-read for you!

The steps you take to prepare your cat for the zombie apocalypse not only gets your cat ready for the spookfest, but it also means your kitty partner-in-crime will be there to watch your back as well! After all, we all deserve to have an adorable, yet completely zombie-confident fur friend!Prepare Your Cat for the Zombie Apocalypse. These will keep both you and your kitty Halloween ready as well!

Prepare Your Cat for the Zombie Apocalypse!

Keep your cat indoors. This should be a no-brainer. If you want your furry MacGyver to have the best chance of survival that means you need to keep him safe inside. Wandering the alleyways and dark corners is asking for zombie trouble. When the zombies come, you don’t want to have to be outside hoping to find your cat in time before the undead are knocking down your door! Indoors just makes sense.

Stockpile cat supplies. When the brain munchers come, life as we know it will stop. No more fresh groceries. No more untainted water supplies. It will ALL be a furry memory. Your cat needs to be able to survive with what is on hand in your home for a considerable amount of time. Unless, you live in a glass house that is quickly infiltrated. Stocking up on bottled water, dry & wet cat food, catnip for anxiety and playful mice stuffies will help your cat remain nourished both mentally and physically.

Keep your cat’s vaccinations up-to-date. This may seem a strange request. Why keep your cat’s vaccinations up-to-date for when the end of the world comes? Well, you need your cat to be in the best health he can be to run, fight, chase and defeat zombies! Health can change at the drop of a cat treat, but giving your cat his best chance is a step in the right direction! Plus, who knows if there could possibly be an immunity to zombie attacks in those vaccines? Mind blown yet?

Spay/Neuter your cat. If there is one thing you should have already learned from zombie literature is that despite all the best guns or fences, we are often jeopardized by our love for others. You don’t want your cat’s best judgement to be lost because of his kittens. Keep your cat responsible for himself and himself, alone!

Watch zombie movies with your cat. There is nothing like knowing your enemy before they come calling. Exposing your cat to zombie movies will allow him to understand the zombie psyche better and thus, have a better chance at a successful avoidance to zombies. Many questions remain unanswered until the apocalypse begins, but you and your cat will be prepared for anything!

Plan an escape route for your cat. Every successful zombie escape comes with preparation. You and your cat don’t want to find yourselves boxed in your home without an option. Consider the high-traffic areas your cat occupies such as the litter room/food dish/cat furniture room and be prepared to help your cat escape as quickly as possible to the nearest vehicle or neighbouring house. Walk your cat through this exercise and reward him in the end with his favourite cat treat.

Keep your cat active daily. Running from zombies is a must in any zombie apocalypse scenario. Your cat needs to be able to keep up and remain at a decent speed without falling behind. Determine your cat’s ideal weight for his size and help him to achieve this. Make sure he has plenty of climbing space in your home, so that he can imagine it as the trees outside that he may one day have to climb in an effort to save his fur self! Find engaging toys for your cat and you will see his activity increase in no time at all!

Reassure your cat you will not leave him. Confirming to your cat on a regular basis that you love him and will not leave him behind is a must. Your cat may very well be your only hope when the zombies come and you don’t want to jeopardize that. Petting, brushing and snuggling your cat will help him to understand that you share a bond for a lifetime.

Great tips to be prepared for the zombie Apocalypse. Why does this remind me of the movie with Will Smith and his dog fighting off zombies? Oh I forget the name of the movie now…oh I remember. “I am Legend”! Great flick.

Read “The Walking Cat: A Cat’s-Eye-View of the Zombie Apocalypse”. Cats will do just fine not just evading zombies, but finding small prey to eat. It’s us humans that will be in trouble! πŸ˜€
