Toopy and Binoo Cake

Creating children’s birthday cakes are one of my favourite things to do. After all, we all remember how magical everything seemed as a child and birthday parties were just the best.

For one birthday, I did a Toopy and Binoo Cake that incorporated the child’s love of all things candy. The cake had to be large enough to feed a small group, but also deliciously fun at the same time!

You can bake any type of cake you would like. You can even go with a boxed cake mix if you want. I used my favourite Buttercream Recipe for the frosting and all the piping work.

I used the transfer method, as demonstrated in my Jem and the Holograms Cake Tutorial to create Toopy and Binoo. It allows you to be as creative as you want with the characters and their placement on the cake can vary.

As always, I use Wilton food dyes to colour the buttercream and went shopping at the Bulk Barn for all the candy featured on the cake. I basically piped the design, filled in the rest of the cake with stars piped on top and the side frosting was simply coated on with a knife. I then put the candy on the cake and it was ready for the party!

What a wonderful baker you are. Hologram transfers are beyond me, I think. But eating a cake, that looks so great, with Buttercream frosting I can manage. That is a happy birthday cake indeed.

Wow~ I can’t cook or bake to save my life! Sound fun to make cake yourself, but I don’t want to make my family sick so… I’ll stick with buying.:/
