Baking is one of my favourite hobbies. I have enjoyed delicious goodies since I was a child and started baking as a teenager. My dad always loved my baking, so it was definitely encouragement for me.
Surprisingly, however, I didn’t start decorating until my late 20s. It had always interested me, but I never really put much thought into it. To share in my knowledge, I have put together this two-toned cupcake tutorial. You will be able to create two-toned cupcakes in no time at all!
Two Toned Cupcake Tutorial
The secret behind creating two-toned cupcakes is all about the type of frosting, icing colours and a piping bag. You want to start out by using a frosting that holds its shape, which you won’t find when you buy frosting in a tub. I prefer to make a homemade buttercream frosting.
After your frosting is ready to go, you will need to colour your frosting. Obviously, you want to go with the two colours you want. I would recommend going with colours that compliment your event theme or each other.
You will then need to use your piping bag. You have the option to go with a tip, so keep in mind that you will need a good tip to create a particular design. Take a butter knife or spoon and put one colour of frosting inside the piping bag staying to one side.
Repeat with the other colour on the opposite side of the bag. As you can see in the picture, it isn’t exact or perfect, but it will turn out fabulous!
Pretty easy, isn’t it! Enjoy your two-toned creations!
