My youngest turned four recently. It is still hard to wrap my mind around the fact that four years have gone by since my son was just a baby. That is the funny thing about time.
We are always in such a hurry to get things done that we usually forget to enjoy the rarest of moments. I am sure so many of you can relate.
To celebrate his birthday, I made a very special dinosaur cake since he absolutely loves dinosaurs. Thankfully, the Vanilla Confetti Cake creation came out beautifully. You can’t go wrong with the recipe and it is a huge hit with kids!
Vanilla Confetti Cake
Vanilla Confetti Cake
Super Easy and a Crowd Pleaser!
Ingredients
- 2 and 1/2 cups flour
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 and 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 and 1/4 cups milk
- 2 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup sprinkles
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375 Degrees Fahrenheit. Spray your cake pans generously. I used Wilton Easy Layers 5-Layer Cake Pan Set.
-
In a bowl, mix together flour and baking powder. Put aside.
-
In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Alternating, add flour mixture and milk to butter mixture. Mix until combined and add sprinkles.
-
If you went with the Wilton Easy Layers Cake Pans, you will want to bake for 18 minutes. If you went with 9-inch cake pans, bake for 25 minutes.
After the cake had cooled, I went about frosting the layers with my Best Ever Buttercream Frosting. It was more than enough to layer all the layers as well as the top and sides. It was a delicious combination that is sure to please!
