Delicious stuffed peppers just like mom use to make!
Start hamburger cooking with chopped onions. Cook until well-browned.
Mix in tomato sauce, rice, and diced tomatoes. Leave on low heat.
Cut tops of green peppers off and save. Remove insides of peppers. Blanch peppers and tops in pot of boiling water for about 5 minutes, remove and let drain.
Salt the inside of the peppers well. Stand peppers up and put in alternating layers of hamburger mix and grated cheese.
Place peppers with tops on, upright in a pan. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour.
